Audition Dates

- Saturday, August 27th a.m. (Strings)

- Sunday, August 28th p.m. (Winds, Brass, Percussion)

York Youth Symphony Audition Requirements 

(You will be asked to demonstrate your progress in these areas.)

1.  Scales: (two and three octaves) 
Be prepared to perform any scale from the scale sheet that pertains to your instrument.

2.  Solo:     
Prepared solo (approximately 2 minutes) that BEST demonstrates your ability, not something that is a work-in-progress.

3.  Sight-reading will be required.

4.  Excerpt provided.

5.  Percussionists:
Demonstrate current musical and skill levels through a solo piece which shows a variety of skills, such as: mallets, timpani, cymbals and snare. Xylophone, timpani and accessories will be available at audition.
Please bring your own snare, sticks and mallets.

Auditions for the 2011-2012 season will be held:
